Disappointing cross country race in RoeselareNovember 27th 2005 - In his first race after months of injuries, Kamiel Maase had a tough battle in the Belgian mud. Roeselare is already known for it's difficult course, but the loads of rain caused even more problems for most of the athletes. Belgian runner Tom van Hooste is an expert on these courses and won impressively. Kamiel was not hindered by his injuries anymore, but he could not really cope with the mud.
'I am more and more focussing on marathon running these years and so a race on a course like this is quite tough for a come-back. But even on a course that does not fit my running style I have to do better than this to feel ready for a championship' Kamiel looked back on the race. After a 17th place finish, he and his coach will later this week decide whether to start in Tilburg on December 11th.
