June 5th 2005 - After weeks of training, Kamiel ran his first race after the Rotterdam marathon on the track in Zwolle. In his first (and maybe only) track race of the season he wanted to test himself at the 5000 meter in the so called 'club competition' (Kamiel's club Leiden Atletiek is in the 1st division). It turned out to be a solo race right from the start in very windy conditions. Sub-14 schedule was on Kamiel's mind, but after 3 kilometers the lap times dropped a little. Nevertheless 14.05.02 was a satisfying time and his first place yielded the maximum of 13 points for his club.
