Fine 5000 meter test race in Amsterdam

June 6th 2004 - Just a week before the important 10.000 meter in Watford, the British trials for distance events where he wants to secure his Olympic ticket, Kamiel ran a good test race in Amsterdam. In the Olympic stadium, where he set his marathon record last october, Kamiel took part in the Dutch championships for clubs for his club Leiden Atletiek. He won the 5.000 meter race in a time of 13:45.43. After 8 laps he left Koen Raymaekers behind and, running about 5:20 for the last 2.000 meters, finished the race solo.
