Low-key comeback in Mastboscross BredaJanuary 20th 2008 - After the Amsterdam Marathon in October 2007, an old injury in his right ankle ("dancer's heel") withheld Kamiel from resuming training. Since his next major goal will be the Beijing Olympics he was in no hurry and decided to use this time period to rest.
After building up very, very slowly, he was able to run for about 50 minutes during Christmas. Consequently, his 'comeback' in Breda was preceded by about three weeks of training only. "It was just nice to run through the woods and feel the excitement of competition. I knew beforehand I would not be running at a high level and am very happy about the way I felt today" Kamiel commented on his race.
